A friend of my mum gave me a big bag of some beautiful fabric samples, a few or them were big enough to sew patterns with. This skirt is made from 2 matching small flower pattern fabric, one in blue and orange one in a lighter yellow and brown (used for the pockets) I think this fabric design is from the 70s.
I changed the pattern slightly from nettevivante original and made the waist band thicker and the skirt longer. But very happy with the result. I can wear the skirt with blues, oranges and pinks, so pretty versatile and I have not stopped wearing it all summer. This was my first item sewn from a pattern and have made more since this was done in June. So all good.
Main fabric is light weight cotton with contrasting colours used for the pockets, I used mediumweight iron-on interfacing to give the waist and button panel a bit of weight.

Beautiful skirt! I like the alterations you made to the original pattern, makes me want to give it a try. :)
