This project is based on Miasu’s Contour Bust Dress pattern, which was quite fun and easy to make (although I had to resize it a bit by eyeballing it because I’m uhm, not really generous in the bossom area). There is a 2 inch band on the waist that connects the top to the bottom skirt. The whole dress was made from fabric from a thrifted frumpy dress that I found for RM5 (about USD1.50) which I cut up into pieces for the dress because I just adore the fun print!
Thrifted dress, not really sure what material it is hehe _"

Really nice dress, it looks so beautiful. Is there a difference between your dress and the pattern for Miasu’s Contour Bust Dress ?

thank you! i did take in the sides quite a lot because of my small bust, and also made the waistband and gathered the skirt without using Miasu’s instructions. this was because i was working with a deconstructed piece of dress, and had to make do with whatever i had.. hehe.. hope that helps? :D

hey hannnc, i tried to add another picture to the project but it doesn’t seem to show up even though ive tried a zillion times. anyway, here’s a link to the back of it:
http://picasaweb.google.com/chingz.ng/HandmadeProjects#5482674785594794978
i altered the back of the pattern because the V-slant was going below my bra line. so i just made the slant less steep. i also use my bra straps position as a guide to where to place the straps on the dress, coz i get a bit anal when straps are positioned awkwardly and ends up making the dress unflattering for me.

Thankyou for that!!
Yes that is the reason why i had wanted to see the back of it, because i’m never sure on how low it sits. I guess ill find out best when i make it and alter as i go, like you did.
Yours turned out excellently :)
Oh and with adding the picture, I know that when you first update your projects pictures they take hours to show. But if you let it upload and left it for a while, and it still didn’t show, i don’t know how to help. Sorry!
