  This pattern is great! Looks so great on you as well as everyone else who has tried it by the looks of it. I’m just wondering if anyone could give me some guidance as to how I can increase the size in the bust. The waist should work as I fall between the size 4 and 6 in all my other measurements but I’m closer to a 12 in the bust. Hopefully someone can help me out! This is a problem buying ready made clothes for me too so if I could make this pattern work (and learn how to do this for future projects) I would be forever grateful!! Thanks!

  Why isn’t anybody answering on how to get the pattern?! I see a ton of other people who can’t get it & neither can I. I just get the PDF download with her photos & instructions, but it shows no pattern pieces. Anybody care to help us out?!

  UPDATE: GOT IT! Whoooo—hooooo! This is amazing. Lol. Thank you, thank you Miasu! This is a beautiful dress & it looks amazing on you. I cannot wait to make my own. :) PS. I hope everyone else who was having trouble reads your comment & figures it out. I don’t have a clue why it worked this time as I’ve downloaded 7 different times. But I did exactly as you said and it happened to work out. So to everyone who’s having trouble: follow those directions & remember to click “print at HOME.” If you don’t get the pattern, then try it a second time. This was the second time I hit the “print at home” and it worked out, so that’s the key.

    You just hit “Get it now” under “Patterns for this Project” on the right. It will take you to your downloads, and you just click “Print at home”

    Thank you. I tried that 6 different times & for some reason, it still doesn’t show up in the PDF file. I am able to view everything else in that file — the photos and instructions, but never see the pattern part. :(

  i made a dress with your pattern but this is the first time that i am inserting a zipper. do you sew on the bias tape before or after you put in the zipper and when do you attach the straps?

    I would add the bias tape after inserting the zipper. That way, you can hide the extra part of the zipper at the top (those ends that extend past the zipper pull) under the bias binding. It makes for a cleaner finish. Attach the straps after the bias tape is applied. Good luck!

  Oh, o.k., that makes sense (about the knit fabric), thanks! I already cut out your pattern from freezer paper. I was just trying to figure out what fabric to use. I’m definitely thinking of a print(for the top portion). I will post my project when I’m done! Thanks for responding!

  Hi, again, Miasu! Did you create this pattern on your body, a dressform, or perhaps both? Are the fabrics I see, for the top half of the dress, knit (the leopard print and the flower print) and 100% cotton for the last one (the plaid)?

    Hi! I created this pattern from measurements and guestimation. All fabrics pictured are non-stretch. I wouldn’t recommend anything terribly stretchy (unless it’s woven) for the bodice because I can’t imagine it would support the design well. Good luck, and ask anything else if you please!

  Here’s a hint, for all the bigger ladies out there, with bigger bust lines and bigger waist lines, who are absolutely in love with this pattern like I am. It’s really easy to enlarge this pattern. There are four seam lines around the waist area. All you need to do is increase evenly over these four seams, taking into account that there will be about two inches worth of seam allowance. I believe when I measured the pattern pieces together, the waist is about 26-27 inches, so in order to make the waist a 32, I had to increase 5 inches over the 4 seam lines. The bust area is a bit trickier. Not only are you going to have to lengthen it, but you are going to have to deepen it as well, so you will have to add to the top and bottom of the bust piece as well as the sides. The bust piece is going to need to be played with a bit more that the bodice pieces. I’m in the process of sewing mine up, but will post pics when done.

    A really easy way to add the inches you are looking for is by using a compass (no, not the kind to find North) Just set it to the desired width that you would like to add and trace around all the pattern peices to get the same even spacing without having to measure everything with a ruler. great for curved edges.

  I am about to try this as my first project. It looks perfect for my wife’s costume. Not that it is a costume pattern. This dress is something she would wear anytime. Hopefully I do it well enough for her to enjoy the quality.

    Good luck! I’m actually using it for my costume :))

    However, I don’t know what I was on when I made that pattern. It’s a bit shoddy. The pieces fit fine, but the lengths come out really different. Like side pieces are shorter than than back (or something). Anyway, just be careful and measure to make sure it comes down far enough on the abdomen!

    I plan to edit the pattern, but who knows when that’ll actually happen..heh ;)

    it’s not my size either, but i just traced the pieces and made them about an inch and a half or so bigger than they normally are. mine’s not done yet though so this may or may not be a good idea, lol.

  You are one talented lady – thankyou so much for this pattern. I have been looking for a pattern like this for AGES, and finally I have found it! I just whipped up a dress last night using it. Even though it is not in my size (40) I added 1cm to the pattern and it came out perfect. I’m sure this is not the way you are supposed to increase the size of a pattern but it worked and I am so happy about it!!! Thank you, thank you, thank you xxx

  Okay, So i’ve made this dress and the front looks perfect! however i’m having a problem in the back. There is a big poof happening where my waist is.

  I noticed in the first two dress pictures (the one with the black/leopard and the pink one) it has a different waist and there are some pleats in the back. Where is this dress? I made the one for the plaid dress, but I don’t know how to fix the back. Please help!

    Me too! I think I will need to add some darts or maybe take the gathering around to the back as well – I have a little waist and big bum, which makes the skirt part of this pattern not quite fit. Trying to get my hands on a mannequin to make this easier!

    yes make sure your printer is set to print it at 100% size.. not stretching it to fit the page or shrinking it etc.

  I totally adore this and am trying to make it right now but I’m a bit stuck so would anyone be able to help me out? I’m wondering what happens in steps 5-7, i.e. what happens to the top piece that is being pinned to the lower ones? The instructions jump from the top being pinned to something being topstitched. I’m a beginner and have never topstitched before so I’m not sure which bit of the material to use etc.

  Any help would be much appreciated!

    First, you have to pin together the three lower parts: the middle one and the side parts. Sew them together. Second, you have to align the middle of the lower part with the middle of the upper part and sew them together as well (right sides together). Then comes the topstitching which is just a line sewn from one side of the bust to the other – along the last seam you made (connecting the lower part with upper). The topstitching can be made above or below the seam – you should try the piece on to see how it looks with seam allowances folded down or up. Then topstitch from the right side, including seam allowances on the wrong side. Hope this helps you. :) And don’t forget to neaten (zig-zag/overlock) the seam allowances while working! ;) I used inelastic cotton, but I should line it with interafcing; it would probably look better.
