My coffee date dress for my committee meeting.
I had to make a lot of alterations to this dress. I added back darts in the skirt because my back “arches,” and I raised the waist a little bit. I didn’t mess with the size of the waist because I match the burdastyle size chart proportions (bust:waist:hips) almost exactly, so even though the waist seemed a bit big, I thought maybe it would fall weird and require a lot of ease or something. Big mistake! I ended up having to take the waist in at the sides a lot, but it is still a little big. The darts won’t line up right if I take it in anymore at the sides—I really need to take it in at the center front. Did anyone else have this problem?
The bodice itself fits really really well. Also, the belt is from H&M.
