Vintage McCalls 9818 (1954) in heather pinspot cotton from Ditto Fabrics. I love how this dress doesn’t look almost 60 years old, there’s something about vintage that is still “new” The seams are all finished with the “clean finish” technique, hem taped & hand stitched into place. The bodice is cut on the bias to enable the V-neck to be on the straight so it doesn’t stretch & gape. Another “joining-in” project, this for #fallforcotton, initiated by Rochelle from Lucky Lucille and Tasha from by gum, by golly.
This dress is for sale in my Etsy shop.
One of the most beloved American designers passed last night. We look back at a few of his designs.
