Description

Vintage McCalls 9818 (1954) in heather pinspot cotton from Ditto Fabrics. I love how this dress doesn’t look almost 60 years old, there’s something about vintage that is still “new” The seams are all finished with the “clean finish” technique, hem taped & hand stitched into place. The bodice is cut on the bias to enable the V-neck to be on the straight so it doesn’t stretch & gape. Another “joining-in” project, this for #fallforcotton, initiated by Rochelle from Lucky Lucille and Tasha from by gum, by golly.

    It’s simple, but it has really nice lines. Great idea about cutting the neckline on the straight grain! You probably used the only fabric with a pattern that you could do that with
