Description
Friday was the first real spring day here, and luckily I was at the fabric store… I stumbled upon this lovely floral crepe chiffon, and I just had to have it as I felt I had to celebrate the lovely weather.-)
The pattern is a Burda pattern for 2009, I think, and it is long enough to work as a beachcover for summer, and the cover provided by the long sleeves are perfect for someone like me who burn easily. At the same time it is not to cold for spring.
The whole thing is finished off with french seams as I think chiffon tends to fray easily and this prevents it for sure. I had a real hard time with the sleeves, and if I wasn’t as stubborn as a mule, I probably would have given up by the third time I had to pick them off, but that just goes to show that sewing is definitely not like riding a bike…..
The really annoying thing is that after all my trouble, I’m noy sure how often I will actually use it. The fabric was lovely on the bolt, but now I fear that it might be a bit too “loud” for me. I did re-learn a lot from this though, and tried makings cuffs for the first time…
