Over on my blog www.hugsandkissesclothing.wordpress.com I wanted to introduce everyone to my new Cow Chow called CiCi. I thought I would also take this blogging opportunity to share another new creation.
The colourful stripes make this material perfect for this style of dress. And the cut out back is such a simple but effective way of spicing up such a simple pattern.
I’d love to hear what you think of both the dress and my new puppy. Pop on over to the blog for LOADS more photos!
Thanks everyone xXx

Thanks :D Honestly it really isn’t that hard to do. Just trace the normal back panel pattern pieces onto fabric but when you go to cut it out, extend it a few inches where you want your button fastening to go and include your cut out design. then it is just sewing it all together. I have had a few comments about doing a cut out back. I think I might get to work on trying to form a but of a tutorial on my blog. hope it will be of some help xXx

Thanks! Stripey material can be so hard to come by – I couldn’t wait to get started using this fabric when I found it :D xXx

Hey, Thanks for your comment. I made this a few months ago but just took a while to post it. If I remember rightly I don’t think I used a pattern, I made it myself. I used the form of my mannequin and some staple pattern pieces I made to piece it together. However, a simple fitted dress pattern would do the trick, for the cut out back just take the back panel pieces try experimenting with some cut out designs. fully lining it sorts out any hemming issues. Hope this helps xXx
