I made this lil’ number back in January when the weather was warmer. It is based on Vogue pattern #1207 and made in a gorgeous silk twill from Tessuti.
I love the pleats in the sleeves, and the low V back. The clash of the fabric makes me think of stained glass windows in beautiful old churches.
If you are thinking of making this pattern, do yourself a favour and make a muslin first. The sizing was all over the place for me, but luckily the dress lived happily ever after.

i made this dress too and had similar issues with the sizing and arm restriction, but it makes a pretty dress to look at :) yours is really lovely

Can you raise your arms in this? I just sewed this dress, and I am trying to figure out if I did something wrong. I can’t lift my arms because of the way the sleeves are shaped!

Hi Suzeb, yeah it’s definitely a flawed pattern. I also have the restriction with the arms; it doesn’t allow you to lift your arms past your shoulders. This dress looks pretty, but it’s not very functional. Watch out for the sizing as well. Good luck!

Love love this dress. I must know who makes this fabric so I can get a hold of some. I looked on the Tessuti site and didn’t see any. I just emailed them asking if they still carried it and have yet to get a response back. keeps fingers crossed

Gorgeous fabric and suits the dress perfectly. I think you did a fab job and I quite like what you did with the darts on the back! I love the sleeves… they look a bit tricky….and I think you were right to make it shorter :-)
