This wonderfully bright & cheerful top was made for my friend Elle, who also named it. She found this quite insane fabric and loved it, so I offered to make her a top out of it if she bought it.
Several months later, I finally made the top. It took me less than a day in the end, so she could really have had it long ago,. Oh well! Better late than never!
Pattern is Simplicity 2373, the same as I used for my Dinosaur Pride dress and Flying Fish top. I had to do a bit of altering to the pattern to make the bodice big enough, as the pattern as written won’t hold Elle’s boobs in. I made it about 2.5 inches longer along the bottom edge, tapered back to the standard length on the back piece. I also enlarged each pattern piece by one size (usually 1cm) bigger than the pattern went to. The skirt I left as is, as that fit fine.
