I made this with some quilting cotton I bought in Austin one summer, thinking I would make some clothes to wear in the heat. Unfortunately it was too hot even to sew. So I made it up later after leaving Texas. It is a very simple dress but satisfying to make and cute—no wonder it’s a popular pattern. I shortened it and took off the pockets, and I underlined it with flame-colored cotton (I forget why—maybe the fabric was a little sheer on its own).
Cotton.
Matthew for the pictures.
