Hi! Thanks for all your comments. Sorry for the delay in completing the instructions. Mediacom outage! :S The waistband is actually “empire”. There is elastic casing on the back piece and the front piece. I did the front and the back separately. Let me know if you have more questions after reading the instructions.

is there elastic in the casing OR a casing with a drawstring OR elastic sewn directly to the back of the waist area?

Elastic in casing and sewn in place on both ends separately on each piece, front and back.
