Blue and yellow colorblock dress. The top is double layered, so there’s a fairly close fitting front, and then the cowl neck layer. In the back, there’s two layers, but they’re identical.
I design and draft my own patterns, so if you have any interest in the pattern for this one, let me know and I can make a pdf with the pieces.
Everyone I’ve shown it to says this dress is very “me,” so that’s a success. I’m looking forward to wearing it. It’d be better with a belt, but I’ve yet to find one that works, so I’ll probably go without until I do find one.
I always mean to add pockets to my dresses (because pockets are fantastic!), and I usually forget to add them when I sew up the skirts.
But I remembered here! And they’re large, super comfy pockets, and you can slightly see the yellow peeking out, which I really like.
The fabric is really cool. It’s a linen jersey knit. So it’s super soft, and a bit heavy and pretty textured and slubby. Very fun to work with (but actually doesn’t have that much stretch!).

Great dress! It looks very good. I would love to have the pattern if it’s not too much trouble. I am still pattern depending and can’t really do much without it :)

Its gorgeous. the two colours are lovely. why don.t.you use strips of both fabrics and make a plaited belt?? It would look lovely with your dress! theres a few tutorials on fabric necklaces but i think you could apply the same idea to a belt x
