this is the eclair dress from colette patterns, and can i just say… i love this dress!!!
the bodice of the dress was a bit tricky to fit, i have to say. i had to size it down to fit my wee little bust, all the while trying to keep the style lines of the princess seams. the princess seams narrow to the center as they come into the waist, so it threw me for a loop initially. but after some head scratching (and three muslins) i worked it all out.
the bodice pattern is also fairly short waisted so i had to add about 1 1/2" to adjust for a high bust and to get that waist seam to hit below the rib cage to facilitate breathing and whatnot. there is underlining, interfacing, boning, waist stay, spaghetti straps, hanging loops… the works!
