My first dress made here in Benin from a .pdf pattern! Because I didn’t know how to sew an invisible zipper with a treadle machine, I had to ask local tailors to help me. And they were more than happy to teach me how to do it.
I wrote about it (and the tailors) in my blog

Beautiful dress. I love the fact that you made it on a treadle sewing machine. I too began sewing on a treadle. Keep working at it. It is a fantastic way to learn all of the traditonal sewing techniques.

thank you! the treadle is also great for when the electricity goes out, because i just put on my headlamp and continue sewing as if nothing has happened
