Description

This is my first time doing several things, including working with (and matching up) plaid, making a boy’s shirt, using my new serger, making buttonholes. Seeing as this was my first time with a lot of new things, I am super happy with the finished project. The model has already requested a long-sleeved version!

Colette Negroni pattern is easy to follow and offers several hints and tips. The lining of the yoke is done in a very interesting way and I wasn’t fully convinced it would work, but of course it did!

Material Notes

Quilting-weight cotton from Jo-Anns.

This looks expertly done. What a great job! I’m looking forward to sewing my own shirts. I, too, have a serger. I bought it about three years ago. Unfortunately, I’ve only gotten the time to try it out once or twice.

Your model looks like he likes the shirt very much.
