Staying with my paper theme from my last posted project… made for the same photoshoot I present to you… My Coffee filter dress.
Everyone who knows me, knows how much I live on coffee! so the photographer thought it would be a fun statment to myself in the making and designing of this coffee filter dress!!
It took 1 whole package of 400 coffee filters, some cut in half, adn others left whole (you can see in the pictures) the top was gathered tulle and the under part of the skirt is filled with 8 yeards of tulle and a satin that the coffee filters where sewn on!
Again like my magazine paper dress, this is just afun design to make! I would encorage anyone who is able to, to make somthing in a unique material at one point in there life. It’s a great joy useing somthing odd or silly and seeing it become somthing wearable and interesting for photoshoots, for costums or partys, even fashion shows or events! Even if you jsut keep it on display at your workspace or home… making this design was alot of fun!!
coffee filters, thread, tulle (10 – 15 yards) 3 yards of satin(made the skirt of this design)

I wish you had some photos with direct lighting on the dress so I can really see the dress. The photos are fantastic but it’s hard to really see the detail of the dress from them, except the last one, but even that one is still a little hard to see the detail. Is this dress on display at the Olcott Boutique? I would love to see it in person.

Hi there!! Sorry i don’t have any otehr pics of this dress. This shoot was more what the photographer needed for her portfolio! I love them lol! I can put it on display if needed. I usually will have it up later in the year around holloween time as it makes for a great window display! :D It’s in storage in the back room of the shop, however fi you did come down, I’d happily get it out! :)

this dress is just lovely, it dousent look like its made from coffee filters and its so beautifully made. i agree what you said about if given a chance you should make something out of unusual materials, for one of my collage projects urban nomad I had to make a paper fashion adornment and i ended up making an entire dress just made out of paper, although that was nothing compared to your stunning dress. unfortunately my dress is ruined now, though i suppose thats what happens when you get a huge paper dress with know were to store it. any way im rambling, this dress is simply beautiful, well done.
