This is a variation of the fabulous Coffee Date Dress pattern. I added a cap sleeve and lined it with a light brown polyester lining. Instead of doing darts for the bust I did princess seams, because I felt it was more flattering for my body type. I only used one fabric layer for the ruffle to make it more flimsy, and then did a rolled hem on the serger using gray thread for some contrast. I added a dark brown velvet ribbon as a belt.
Cotton, polyester lining

just downloaded this pattern and was contemplating whether black or dk brown piping along the edges of the ruffle and the edges of the top would look good (before I saw this)… I think it looks fantastic. I’m making the pattern into a blouse with petal sleeves. Love the princess seam, very pretty. LOVE the rolled hem on ruffle. SHARP!

What a great idea doing a rolled hem on the ruffle – I like the contrast. Such a good Coffee Date variation. You should be pleased with it. I just have to hurry up now and make mine.
