This is my first dress made from a pattern (and first post on Burdastyle) — thank you Elaine May for the wonderful pattern!
It took me a while to figure out what to do with the ‘facing’ but I found the tutorial on isew.co.uk which was very helpful.
Overall I’m happy with the dress as it fits so well – no alternation was required at all.
Thick (home furnishing) material — I think it’s a polycotton mix. With hindsight perhaps a lighter material would’ve been better, especially when it comes to gathering and attaching the ruffles.

Great job!! And welcome to Burda. I did the coffee date dress too. It was my first dress I ever made for ME. So fun and simple, yet very elegant. Keep up the good work!
