Description

I would love to hear from anyone else who has made this
pattern.
I love the shape of the dress but the neckline seems to
dig into my neck. (I remember actually cutting the neckline
out larger than the pattern due to the fact that I have broad
shoulders.)

I got the fabric at an upholstery place for about a dollar.
The colour combo of red and goldish is a bit odd but I think that the
weight of the fabric holds the sheath-y shape of the dress well.
(Also for a newbie like me I figured I could
run over it with my sewing machine till the cows came home.)

Anyhow, I would now recommend this pattern. I love the shape of
the dress, I think it is a classic really and you can layer the dress also.
The patten has a number of sleeve types that are all appealing.
I would recommend getting a smaller zipper than the twenty something they suggest. I am not sure WHY they say to use a twenty something zipper as the dress is quite roomy and I can slip the dress over my head without even using the zipper.

I might even remove the zipper completely.

Material Notes

Simplicity 2922. Yet another mystery material. I think it is heavy denim weight cotton.

I think this is cute too, it would look great also cinched at the waist with a wide funky belt. Your dog loves it too, you should make him a matching coat :)
