I made another coat from a super altered McCall 5525 :) this light weight coat is inspired by a Modcloth coat, but more slimmed down and soft-edged.
Details i love:
I made mine more fitted around the waist.
I also changed the collar to a oversized hoodie
The pleat in the back is a lot higher than my inspiration, allowing a more fitted waist
the pocket is a very roomy ? pocket (what is the name of this kind of pockets?)
the sleeves are pleated in at the edge to mimic the back
The collar is hard to describe — they are a little fumply but i am just so proud of myself for figuring it out!
the coat is also balooned around the butt
there’s a tag area in the back of the neck!
fully lined
fabric covered button closure
I loved my coat, this is probably one of my favorite coat ever!

What a great coat!!! I also like the top UNDER the coat! I also see a dress in there…if you look at the back of the coat, remove the hood and the ?yoke? (the piece inside the v-neck…uh, back) GREAT JOB !!!!

I’d bet a balooned, white coat would never suit a petite girl… but I’d be totally wrong! Great work! Too bad I’ll never rise to an (super-advanced) intermediate level as you, to be able to sew such wonderful stuff! Sigh…
