This is my dress for week 2 (fashion icon) project run & play season 5. I want to make a dress inspired by coco chanel’s style but didn;t want my daughter to look like a “mini-coco”. Instead i wanted something with the chanel style but wearable for a child. I used strech cotton fabric, white and black, yellow bias and some penguins buttons that i have to say i really love!! I used my very tested, trusted and used (i could say abused!!!) A line dress pattern, this time with sleeves and peter pan collar. I sew triple stiches in the sleeves and black sides of the front, trying to make them to look like chanel’s purses, but the front of the dress also reminds me of penguin’s bodies. I really had a blast while doing it, it was so easy and fun to make!!!
black strech cotton, white cotton, yellow bias, penguin shaped buttons
