This was for a flat pattern drafting class final, and incorporates my love of Asian textiles and design. I wanted to pay homage to the kimono, but modernize it to where I could where it out for an evening. There are three pieces, the sash, dress, and underskirt. There is a button closure all up and down the front of the dress. The sleeves are lined with the sash brocade material, and the skirt has pockets and inverted pleats to make it fuller.
hand-dyed sateen cotton, taffeta in brown and red, silk brocade.
