Coat for Baby Girl

Added Dec 26, 2009

The Palmetto Sta...

Ok, I have been working on this coat for my daughter because I was not going to pay for a coat that would not keep her warm and it was about 25 dollars. So, into my stash and off to WM this was created for my baby.
Oh yeah, I need to keep working on those pockets. Maybe on the next project though.

Material Notes

Stretch jean (that was a trade off with my sister in law), pre quilted fabric, separating zipper, butter suede, a little TLC.

Garment Type
Cotton, Denim

I will get the pattern number and post it. I will try the stencil and or basting next time I do pockets of this sort. Thank you for the advice and for the compliments. I should have used red for the embroidery but i was trying to go for a colorful theme. Until I realized that I needed to buy some yellow and green thread for embroidery. So there was only blue that I liked but it hardly shows on the jean.

Oh, I also have to add the top button for the flap that is covering the zip.

Beautiful. I like the topstitching. Where’s the pattern from? For the pockets, try working with a stencil to shape them before sewing on. Basting could also help.

The pattern is Simplicity 0677. Sorry it took a bit long…cold and rainy. But here it is. I posted..or I thought I had posted the other two comments under here but I guess not. Thank you for your compliments.
