This was my first attempt and I did find it a little bit tricky. I messed up the dimensions a bit so the flap isn’t the same width as the bag but it is messy and not perfect just like me so I love it anyway!
I didn’t have any elastic for the inside pocket so I just added 2 snap fasteners. I also made a bow from some left over scraps of material.
I’ve added a picture of the second bag I made( well I had…but for some reason it’s not showing!). I added a fabric flower made out of some of the left over material. I have included the link for the instructions below, however, for some reason the website won’t let me add where I got the idea…so I shall just say I first saw the fabric flower in xnickerxje’s studio and it is called “my fabric flower pin”. So thanks to her!
The outside is a cotton blend. The photo doesn't show it that well but the silver stripes are glittery. The inside is black silk.

I think this turned out very well. The narrower flap actually adds to the interesting stripe patterns. I especially like the way the stripes are aligned and the contrast with horizontal and vertical stripes. They also work with the solid lining and bringing it all together with the flower pin using both fabrics is very polished. Would love to see the second bag.

That’s cute. The bow makes it unique. I love this style!
