Used the dress pattern 103 from Burdastyle 11/2010 to make a summer dress. As it has a simple rectangular shape and no zipper or something (only the elastic band and a slit with a small button on the back) it was easy and fast to sew. To make it even easier I used biastape for the arm holes and the neckline. Because the combination of the simple brown cotton fabric (a bit strange colour…), the white top and the simple shape reminded me of a cowl I added the white stitching – I guess it makes it much more look like it belongs in the city than in a cloister :-)
I like the end result very much, it is very nice to wear on hot days and in spite of its simplicity wearable in office. And the pockets make it practical for daily use too :-)
PS: Sorry for the bad pics, it was a bit too much light in the sun in front of the white wall…
Cheap brown cotton from www.stoffe.de and a strange white fabric, guess a mixture of cotton and rayon
