This dress was made via a Sewalong on my blog. We used Simplicity’s 1880 and made either a faux wrap or shirt dress. This is my shirt dress version made in white linen. The collar was rounded off, cuz I prefer a rounded collar sometimes and there’s a contrasting thread adorning the buttonholes. The dress has a side zipper and waist stay as the skirt section is very heavy. The skirt section is lined because of the sheerness of this white linen!
In the end, I couldn’t be happier with the way this dress turned out! It’s great for our seriously hot summer weather and I can pair it with practically any color – so easy to wear. The only thing I would change for next time is to cut the skirt on the fold with the fold running down the center front and back (there’s a seamline along there now) so that the skirt folds don’t pool to my middle.
