I bought the issue because of this pattern, fell in love with its enormous romantic ruffles:)
But right after first euphoria passed I imagined myself eating, while wearing the blouse, and putting the ruffles in some plate, for example :))
So I decided to make some changes. The chosen fabric had different right and wrong sides so instead of two collar ruffles I made one ( I cut it twice wider that in the pattern and then folded ); besides, I made cuff ruffles narrower ( just folded the given width along and got 6cm instead 12; after finishing the project I also can advise to make it shorter to have less gathering ).
I sewed the blouse of stretch cotton satin, it’s was a little thick for making cuff ruffles because they are gathered too much that’s why I’d recommend to make the details for them shorter if your fabric differs.
I think my choice is good for the project despite my changes, this satin has some glimmering, keep the shape of a collar ruffle (it is not falling ) and pleasant for a body even in warm weather.
Sip cocktails by the fire in faux fur, patterned silks, and more luxurious fabrics.
