This coat was made from the BurdaStyle Magazine pattern 10-2010-107. It was a really basic sew, which was a nice change! Especially with features like the pockets that were just stitched into the seams instead of having to do welts etc. The only changes I made were to just make the shawl collar plain instead of the line through it (as per the technical drawing), and did a bit of shaping in the centre back seam, and the darts to give it a bit more shape around the bust and waist. I just did my own thing with the tabs around the wrists, and sewed a button on instead of having it adjustable. Overall it turned out really well and I’m so pleased to have a nice warm winter coat.
Pure wool in a grey marl kinda shade. It’s pretty thick and a bit coarse which I like. Striped lining. Gold buttons.
