My cindy swimsuit!
I love it, it’s very cute, but it was pretty hard to fit, and sewing the elastic tape was a nightmare.
At first I had doubts about the utility of such a swimsuit: having my belly covered is not usual when wearing a swimsuit, as I don’t want a fishy white belly ; so much fabric must take hours to dry, doesn’t it?
Well finally it is so cute so it doesn’t matter so much that I’m not tanning my belly, and yes, it takes hours to dry, so it keeps you fresh in the sun! Isn’t that great?!
I asked my mum tu take the pictures, and she actually had a lot of fun, specially when I was jumping!
Elastic tape, Lycra.

does anyone else think it is disgustingly tactless that almost 2 years after the pattern was posted, women still feel the need to make comments against the burdastyle model? in any case, your version is absolutely GORGEOUS and you are quite stunning!

they should use your pictures for the project, you show it off so much better than the model burda style used. very inspiring, the piece and you look gorgeous

this is very cute tho I agree on the belly covering deal. don’t know whats up with this new tankini style but I bet you could shorten it and make just the bra part with out all the extra pretty easy.

The swimsuit looks great! I understand your concerns about covering up…I hate odd tan lines, too. But sometimes it’s nice to have something different. And tell your mom she held a great photo shoot!

Thank you! It is quite tight, because if not, it falls when I swim! I had to adjust it twice until it’s tight enough!

Fantastic! Suits you so well. How did you find it sewing with lycra? Did you buy a special needle?

Thank you :) It is not so easy, specially with the elastic tape, but for my first time with that type of fabric (my ice skating dress) I was in a sewing society so I guess I learnt the basics!
I didn’t use a special needle. Just the dotted zigzag stitch. I’ve never used special needles, I guess I should try!

Wow, you have a lot of courage handling with such a fabric! I have the biggest respect of such fabrics, but when I saw your swimsuit…. Did you use a serger?

Thank you :) It’s very scary at first but you have to try someday… And it is such a relief when you go back to a simple cotton!
I don’t have a serger, so I just left the edges cut, no hem or nothing. Maybe I’ll serge it next christmas…!

It looks so great, and fits you very well. I only can imagine the nightmare of sewing this kind of fabric (this scares me a lot). You are very skilled. Great job.
