“All desert boots are chukkas but not all chukkas are desert boots…” at least, that’s what i googled :) This was my first attempt at mens’ shoes and it took me a few months to get these to a point where i am happy with the end result. Of course, this project is not drama free so maybe i’ll blog about the process someday.
These are lined with pigskin and have a crepe sole and leather midsole. I don’t have a machine yet that will stitch the sole to the uppers so took it to the cobbler for that but the regular sewing of the uppers was done on a regular industrial sewing machine and finished off with a little bit of hand sewing.
These were made with love…let me know if you see the heart stamp i put into the sole of the shoe. =)
thick leather, pigskin, horse belly, crepe, eyelets

Do you have any suggestions as to where one could learn to make such fine work? I’d like to learn to be a shoemaker. These are lovely.

hi there! thanks so much :) i’m not sure where you are located but i would do an online search for “shoemaking courses” (plenty in London!) or try speaking with your local shoemakers and maybe you can apprentice.
