For this dress, I used a vintage sweater material. I’ve had it for several years; I think I bought it at a thrift store. It’s a light pink and white with snowflakes and reindeer. The dress is perfect for winter. It’s Christmas-y but not so much so that I can’t wear it at other times, earlier in the winter.
Unfortunately I didn’t have enough of the fabric to match all the stripes up, plus the pattern didn’t really allow for them to match. I used a variation of the self-drafted cowl top pattern that I’ve used for years. I made it into a dress with a flared a-line skirt and short kimono-type sleeves.
If you’re interested, I blogged about it here.
