Burda Style For people who sew
Description
I fell in love with that dress made by apfelbluete a while ago… And then when she got featured, I saw that dress again and decided I would make the same one for Christmas!
So, there is it! Just a little different!
I used Danielle for the top, and I modified the bottom to this. I also added in-seam-in-pleats pockets, it’s the best!
And modified the sleeves, I didn’t want any of the pleats.
The glittery ribbon is leaving glitter everywhere I go, and I’m not sure it’s machine washable, but I only wore it three times : once at christmas, once at my birthday, and once at new year’s eve!
I had the biggest problems with the zipper: first, the invisible one wasn’t strong enough for all that fabric, then I used 2 others that were cheap and on sale, they both broke! Finally I put hooks and eyes and hoped the last zipper would hold just one night. (And it did!)

You look stunning!!! One of my zippers broke while I was at a party and wearing the garment!!! I am still traumitised from that incident, and now I carry saftey pins with me, just incase. I only started sewing last year, so I am still getting used to wearing my handmade clothes. I love your dress, the red looks gorgeous.
