Every year I make my daughter her Christmas dress for the big show at school. She spotted the taffeta at the store and I already had the black velvet. I made this dress for less than what they sell for at the store. I think it came out pretty good, if I do say so myself. It was my first time working with velvet and it is a messy job. I had to do a major cleaning on my sewing machine. But it was all worth the look on her face when she puts it on. :o)
