Christmas time “down under” (in Australia and New Zealand) is summertime! Which seems to me to be a good time to make a pair of Christmas-red shorts.
Made from Simplicity 6946 from 1975, using version 1 – the “hip huggers” variant, which sits a scandalous 1.5" below the natural waistline. gasp!
This pattern promised to deliver a pair of shorts using 1 metre or less of fabric, so I put it to the test with some red cotton drill left over from making a dress earlier this year and sure enough – it lived up to it’s promise. A good pattern for scrap-and-remnant busting, as it turns out.
The pattern came together quickly and easily, although I will be making a couple of alterations next time round as it’s a bit loose around the waist.
There are some more details over on my blog
