A similation of the pirate jacket worn by Kiera Knightley in Pirates of the Caribbean – At World’s End. Made for my friend’s eldest daughter. Julia is very small and my smallest mannequin was too big (busty).

The jacket fits my young friend very well, and she is very pleased. She has shown it to her friends and family and they have been shocked, surprised and stunned ! I am so pleased.

That is some fantastic attention to detail! How did you do the embroidery? Is it machine-stitched?

To do it I sketched a design on paper, then transfered it roughly with chalk, then free machine embroidered the design. It was my first attempt at free machine embroidery and I really liked doing it. thank you for your lovely comment.

Wow – that’s an amazing jacket, but it sure looks like a lot of work! I hope she loves it!

Yes it was a lot of work and was started 7 months ago. i just hope she hasn’t grown. But I did make it two sizes too big.
