Children’s wear project, bubble inspiration. I originally was thinking of doing swimwear, but when talking to the child’s mother (she is 8 1/2) her mom brought up how she is getting to that age where she is more body conscious. I took off from there and designed a loose tank to show off her arms and shoulders, and then some short leggings to show off her legs, with pockets to add a more “grown up”, tailored look to them. I made and beaded a bib necklace to embellish the tank, and a plastic vinyl “bubble bag” (that had to be done by hand – my machine didn’t like the monofilament thread!). She will have beaded black flip-flops for the final fashion show.
The bib has sequins, turquoise beads, teal fabric covered beads, and gold and teal seed beads.
