A pretty simple translation of the Audrey Cape & Birdcage hairclip tutorial from Project Run & Play. I made it in the larger size, as a gift for my niece’s birthday. I used old quilt fabric I had inherited (not a quilter) as well as some satin scraps I had from an older project, and made the cape reversible. It was a fun little project to do, especially the hat, and it cost nearly nothing (thread, feathers, hairclip) since I had all the scraps and notions needed to complete it onhand. :-)
Satin, beads, cotton batting, quilt fabric (mixed), feathers, netting, ribbon, golden pearl caps, sequins, a cut up piece of a .69 cent Ikea doormat (yes, really, for the base of the hairclip), a hairclip.
