This is my first attempt at a basic nightie. At first I hated it but after having it on for a few minutes I decided that I really love it – for some reason it reminds me of a 1950’s nightie. I am excited to make a few more now that I learned a bit from making this one.
I was over amibitious with the lace trim that I used – it being the first time I made this pattern – let alone a nightie at all. I shortened the length but I could see trying it longer too. I also could see making it not as wide. I’m finding that a lot of the patterns I’m using from the book (sz small measurements) seem to be a little on the big side when it all comes together. All part of the learning process though and I would definately make this one again!
Fabric is polyester, thread, lace, spiffy sewing machine, lots of deep breaths.

Thanks the fabric is my favorite so far. The mirrors are always like that – the picture was taken in our bedroom – we have a french country sorta thing going on it there. I was a little sad we didn’t get the chandelier in the picture because we just got it and I love it! I love layered mirrors.

Really cute with the fabric. I also love the way that you layered the mirrors for the photo.

Thank you for all the compliments!
Corra – I’m working on a dress that uses the same pattern now. I’m going to try making it a bit smaller and I’m also using a different kind of fabric. I’m thinking too the way it hangs might have something to do with it as well. Its a little intimidating just making it smaller then what the pattern calls for but hopefully it will come out alright. Scary!

AAWww… this is precious! I too have this problem with patterns but I think if you made this again just a bit smaller it would fit you perfectly.
