Chevron 60s Dress (Simplicity 1609)

I have seen so many lovely mod-style dresses using this re-issue pattern, I just had to try it too!
I had this boring beige fabric and them one day it hit me….I thought “I will make a shift dress with the beige stripey fabric and create a chevron effect with the stripes, that should make it more interesting!”

More project images and details on my blog!

Material Notes

Discounted stretch sateen (from Spotlight), Invisible zip, Gtermann polyeter thread,
Iron on interfacing (for facings)

This is a very cute dress, along with your spotted variation too. The 60’s were so exciting for fashion, wish I had been there at the time! I’ve been thinking of trying out this pattern – glad to see it made up.
