When I saw in remnant box fabric with blue cherry blossoms there was no way to pass it.. I love cobalt blue, and here the blossoms are in that color.. The fabric is some kind of slippery viscose.. I wanted to make a maxi dress with it, but I didn’t have enough of the fabric for what I had in mind.. After that, I thought about making another version of This Is The One dress , but I was not quite happy with that idea.. In the end I used the pattern #115 from Burda 08/2012.. I liked the idea of making a dress with long sleeves from this fabric.. I knew the fit would be good, because I have already sewed a dress with this pattern (which is currently in a refashion process, it was missing an interesting detail).. Sewing this slippery fabric with french seams, and matching the pattern was a bit tricky and nerve-racking..
There is something serious with this print.. Maybe symmetric placement of it, or the colors.. I’m not sure.. When I tried it on, I had a filling that it gives me couple of years and grown-up look.. Or better said – I look according to my age (which I’m not used to)..
