Cherchez La Femme Cape

Added Apr 24, 2010

by milkyway

Enschede, Nether...

I made this cape last November. I havent had the opportunity of wearing it because of the weather. Even it was made of leftovers of wool (from my Devil´s wear fake chic Prada coat) still not warm enough for wearing in this frezzing Holland.
I changed the bow shape. The original one didnt fit really I mean it had not good shape so I changed the piece and just stuck a rectangular piece of fabric. I wore it with a nice broche on it.
I wore it for the first time last week. It was really an eyecatcher piece.
I used the pattern from the Burda August 2008, French Report section. Really amazing pieces, I have made almost all of them.

located that BUrda at our local library & have cut it out today in a vintage cherry red herringbone wool – really lightweight & snuggly fabric, plan on lining it in mauve silk – yum yum – I woould love to get loose in your wardrobe :)

I agree with Lily, I am not usually a fan of capes as the are generally unflattering to the figure, but this is beautiful. Might have to rummage and see if I bought that Burda issue!
