I’m a barista, and when my coworker suggested someone be a chemex (a glass coffee maker) for Halloween, I instantly imagined a beautiful, clear dress! What is clear, and sewable? Shower curtain. I used my bodice block for the lower bodice, but left the top without darts and with enough fabric to circle my shoulders. My friend sculpted a spout out of wire hanger, and glued it to the top of the dress. For the skirt, I used the width of the shower curtain, using darts to fit around the waist. The “coffee” underskirt is simply gathered with elastic. Then, the plastic skirt is bubbled up under the coffee skirt and tacked in place.
