Description

A ‘very easy’ vogue pattern, found the fabric on sale, just enough left to make this dress.

I wanted to find some grey star buttons to sew onto the front..looked everywhere (ok not quite) to no avail so instead, I found a pretty 1930’s button.

Pattern: Very Easy Vogue V8232

Material Notes

Cotton linen blend

Another beautiful dress from you! The fit is excellent (again) and the colour is bold and beautiful! Love the trim too!

Thank you, yes I must say I am happy with this dress, I feel good wearing it.

I realise I have been fairly lucky with fit as I think my measurements are very similar to the pattern measurements, I don’t need to adjust too much, well I haven’t so far. Lucky as I have no idea about adjusting patterns.(I bought a book but even that confuses me a little!)

You are welcome! And I understand so well – I haven’t sewn anything for myself with a pattern yet and I know major adjustments will be needed, so I am scared! :-)

Lovely dress – I like the contrasting trim on the bottom.

Re: finding grey coloured star shaped buttons – maybe you could try making some? Do you have “Fimo” (a polymer modelling-clay you shape & bake in your oven to set it into a hard durable shape) in Australia? You could blend black + white to get the shade of grey you are after perhaps :)

Here’s some links I found on Google re: using modelling clay to make buttons:- (1) Make Your Own Buttons from Polymer Clay (2) Polymer Clay (Fimo) Button tutorial (YouTube.com video) (3) Over The Rainbow – www.polymerclay.com.au (a polymer clay store in Australia)

      Thanks :)

Ooo, great idea, using Fimo (yup we have it here) had never crossed my mind. Thanks, definitely something to keep in mind for next time (I have grown to like my little bird bead :) )

I would definitely recommend this pattern…it was fairly simple and easy to get a good result.

Thanks..I am a novice still..I really only started sewing a bit under a year ago..so if I can do it, anyone can..though I sewed soft toys for 4-5 months before I got up courage to make any clothes
