I discovered this fabric one day at Music City Thrift and knew it had to end up as some kind of Charlie Brown inspired party dress. I did not have a pattern, but just draped and trimmed the bodice until it fit my form perfectly, then edge stitched, and added the matching yellow buttons.
For the skirt I found some remnant knit fabric, made a slightly bubble shape, and added welt pockets for pizazz. On the pockets I attached my favorite ribbon trim, created from my Trim on a Whim tutorial and it gives such a nice color!
I hope to have some dresses picked for a local boutique in Nashville and I am definitely going to bring this one, it screams party!
I adore this crazy cotton print material, and have a bit left that I refuse to throw away...

thanks everyone! I couldn’t help but make the Charlie Brown connection, even the register girl at the thrift store said I had to make a Peanuts party dress… So far this is one of my favorite pieces this year and really hope it makes it into that shop!

Very striking! Love the fabric; glad you chose the dark solid fabric for the skirt – it really makes the yellow pop (and I hate it when people say colors pop, but I will make an exception for this)! :-)
