I needed a new jacket and decided to go with the Burda hikaru pattern. All in all I am pleased with the results. I do wish it were more fitted but I do not have a dressmaker so I was relying on measurements. I decided to not use the pockets or collar on the original pattern. The collar was an accident because their instructions were not very clear at that point, but it still looks good without it. I also opted on hook and eye closures instead of a zipper because the fabric I used had a little bit of stretch to it and zipper made it bow out in front. Not too bad for my first jacket. It took about 3 to 4 days or 24 hours work time to complete it. Let’s hope it keeps me warm

I love this jacket and I do where it all the time, but I am really wishing I didn’t use hooks, they are all the way down and very hard to keep hook when trying to “button up”, plus it is very time consuming and if I am in a hurry I often miss a hook and the jacket ends up looking off. I may end up replacing the hooks with something else I am just not sure what yet.

Love it ! What do you mean more fitted? To me it looks like you got the perfect fit. The fabric and design are just so awesome! Keep sewing!
