I totally fell in love with this Burda 7303 pattern the moment I saw it. Because the style is so versatile and can be worn for many years, I bought an expensive Anne Klein wool boucle and lined it with a silk lining. I spent a lot of time cutting out the fabric and even interfaced the whole jacket with a jacket weight interfacing. I was worried about not being able to find a good trim, but luckily I found something that was nice and sparkly to match the fabric. I probably spent about 10 hours on this jacket from beginning to ending because there is a little bit of hand sewing as well.
I absolutely LOOOOOVE this jacket and have worn it many, many times. I wore it to a black-tie wedding with my Karl Lagerfeld dress that I got from a friend on a film set sale, where I received a lot of compliments on the jacket. I also like to wear it with a black turtleneck or oversized black or grey t-shirt with leggings and over-the-knee boots, tres chic. No one can believe that I made the jacket myself.

The boucle fabric is a gorgeous colour – well done on a nicely finished jacket!

This jacket is absolutely gorgeous! Such a nice style, I bet it’s very easy to match it with any kind of clothing – looks like it can go perfectly with everything!

I absolutely love it! Its exactly something i want to do myself. Nice pocketflaps, or are there pockets too? Looks something out of an expensive shop ;) And that should tell you that you did a great job people compliment your jacket instead of your dress :)

Thanks!!!
It’s just a pocket flap but you can easily convert it to a real pocket. I think BurdaStyle has a tutorial on how to make welt pockets.
