Initially I used a burda-pattern for this jacket, but than ended up doing so many changes to the pattern, that i may as well say, it is my baby now……….
This jacket is for my friend Martina again, and as she really loves a more masculine style, but i do not see her in all those men’s cloths, we ended up doing a compromise: a men’s rocker-jacket in a chanel kind of material (the material is to die for: silk and woll blend!!)
For the first time i used these kind of buttons in silver (you have to hammer them into the material and i have to say, that i do not like them that much, but i think, that they fit just great to the kind of look we wanted to achieve.
the lining is to different colors of silk…..
this project took me, due to the many alternations on the pattern and due to the way i wanted to have the look for a felt eternity, but now i am very pleased with it. What do you think??

Wow, that`s great. You´re right, the fabric is to die for. I think I might try something similar. And I love your label, what a great idea not only to put a name.

dear linamaus! thank you very much for your comment! i can highly recommend to do a muslin first with this pattern, as i had really quite an issue with the fitting of it. the labels come from danish company and have been surprisingly cheap :-)

Love it! The fabric does look so nice. Love the attention to the small details like the D rings.

Can I just be Martina? Pretty please?!?! I love the juxtaposition of classic and rock. It’s so dead on! I have a similar style jacket that I’m going to do up pretty soon… I may be begging for help on the asymmetrical zip!

Das ist der absolute Hammer!!! Machst Du mir so eine? This would be my style as well… ;-) Is there an “Interlining”? It looks so nice and “fluffy”…? Or is that just the silk/wool material? Either way, it is AMAZING!

Dear Ralf! You rock! I love the style mix and the fabric is spectacular. The exposed zipper is such a cool touch, takes away a lot from the seriousness of the material. Of course the finishing is not one stitch less than what we used to see from you:)) Beautiful work!

Wow. What a quality jacket. Another ‘doozy’ from you Ralf! I bet that fabric feels amazing. I have been hunting for some lovely wool recently and haven’t found the right stuff for a jacket yet. Its amazing how much more choosy we become the more we do! Well worth all those hours… and you still found time to add your label and that cute hanging loop!

dear janene! i can not agree more: the more we do, the more difficulte it becomes, to find “the right” things (fabric, notions…….) thank you for your kind compliments!
Nov 18, 2011, 06.36 PMby chula123
Kompliment !!

veeery elegant! The fabric is very well chosen, especially I like the texture of the material. You really can be very pleased with your work. I think this is a unisex jacket, right?

dear fedra! the jacket would be unisex, but i have to say, that the material is in real life quite feminine! thank you very much for your kind comment!
