I modified the blouse pattern from Burda 3/2010, model 124. I loved the pattern, but made some changes: there is no collar, the buttons are only in the upper part, and the sleeves have elastic inside instead of cuffs. I cut 38, as is my usual size with Burda, but it was very loose on me… I took it in a lot. I also sewed the back pleats in place to give it some shape. Also, the sleeves were weird, I moved them “up” a bit. I also added a tie, it can be worn multiple ways. I love the fabric a lot, but it was very hard to work with, it´s very easy to damage it when unpicking seams…

That’s how one of my next dresses should look (I want to sew a black cotton dress) :-) Great work!

It looks fantastic! And it looks very good on you, too. Certainly worth the effort! I love the back view. The pleats in the back are absolutely adorable.

Thank you! I should have made smaller size. I was quite sad with the results at first :). And when you look at the model photo, she has the yoke hit higher… hmm. Maybe some fabric with a bit of stretch would be good for this. I don´t know why Burda makes many of the designs so loose… and wide in the shoulders. It was a lot of work, I was riping the sleeves at least three times, blergh! :)

It’s lovely! It looks comfortable and pretty at the same time. Did you use bias tape in the neck opening?

Thank you, I made the bias binding for the neck with the same fabric as the dress and sewed it by hand.

I love this dress on you! I think it was really worth the effort and I do like the slightly loose fit. P.S.: Thanks for your comment on my blog! I like your real name, too! ;)

Thank you, the fit was much more loose in the beggining, it looked awful, especially the back. I had to take it in a lot. I´m going to be a regular reader of your blog :)

Looks ghreat, I agree about the sleeves though, when I saw this pattern originally the first thing that came to minde were that the sleeves were too small and awkward fitting. (one thing you think abou twhen you’v e got goant shoulders.

Thank you, the sleeves weje just narrow, but at the same time made my shoulders look wider. I ended up gathering them instead of easying…

This is stunning. Very hip, and appropriate for the park, the pub and even something a bit fancier!

Thanks, the pattern is nice, but it looks much better on the model, I don´t know why is that ;). I should have made it in size 36 I guess…

Thank you both so much! It was a lot of work. What´s the strange thing with me favoriting my own projects…? I´m quite angry with that, it happend for the second time today. I certainly didn´t add my own projects to my favourites…!
