These two chairs were rescued from an impromptu home bonfire by my Dad during his college days and sat in our attic for about 35 years.
Last year, I sneaked them into the back of my car and took them home, where I stripped away the old finish with a chemical stripper, re-varnished and sealed the wood, and fitted them out with new foam seats and lined cotton covers, as a gift for my Dad’s birthday.
Just chemical stripper, wood filler, varnish, clear sealant, cotton fabrics, and a big role of foam stuffing.

Do you have a picture of the final product? It’s really impressive and the frames are beautiful!
