After my previous laptop decided to give up on life just before the start of term I had to buy myself a new one, which unfortunately was too small for my old laptop sleeve (it sort of swam around in the case) so I decided to try my hand at making a new one. I found the oilcloth on sale at John Lewis and the lining is made from some leftover cotton I had lying around. I slipped the padding from my old (non homemade) laptop sleeve between the lining and the oilcloth so my laptop is nicely cushioned. Making the sleeve up was very simple…I just measured length and width and height then added an inch for the seams as the padding does bulk it up a bit.

Very nice laptop sleeve. Inspires me to make one for my new laptop. Great job!!! And it is waterproof on the outside, how nice. Happy Sewing!
